New Year - 2014

I started the new year off right.  Surrounded by friends. In good spirits. Leaving all of the drama and non-essential back in 2013. Having fun. I wiped the slate clean. I poured everything I am into my final post of 2013. And I volunteered that post to facebook, a place I just about completely abhor. But it reached a few people. Some comments came back on it. Some texts came back on it. It even sparked a phone call.

I was candid in my note. Very candid. And since the majority of my facebook "friends" don't really notice the things I post, I didn't give it a second thought. Who cares how candid I am? No one is really going to see it. No one even remotely close will catch it. But someone did.

Momo is one of the few people that ever calls me. And I love when he calls. It's been years and he still perks me up every time I hear his voice on the other end. We've always talked, about everything under the sun. We joke about the past, we contemplate the future. He usually lifts my mood if it's ever down. But this time. This brand new day in this brand new year, he was able to feed off of my energy. My positivity. My spirit. He apologized for it having been so long since the last time we spoke. He made some remarks about my note, how surprised he was at the openness. How shocked he was by what 2013 encompassed for me. But as always, I heard no judgment in his voice. Just a lot of support and appreciation. I feel worlds better about the strength of the relationship we have. I'm grateful he fought for it even when I gave up all those years ago. I have no doubt that it will do nothing but evolve as the years go on.

With all the spiritual and mental growth I've had in the last two months, I see things so much clearer now. Even the little things. It's the little things that spark the biggest outcomes. Great things have small beginnings.

Here's to the great start of a great year

Good Old Times

I came through for my good buddy Manny today. He's been sort of down recently. Hella sick. Trying to die. Something i dont appreciate it. lol. I made time in my retardo schedule to see him to show I caaaaare. Good times. Goooood times.

I got to see two people I havent seen or really spoken to in like generations. O em Gee, Raatiq & J-Dub.

The best part of the day was our random burst into song via disney. We acappella'd "Be Prepared". From the lion king, act like u know.

So many more quotes now. Soooo many things we discussed.

Back to Basics

Wow, i've been gone for a real minute. And my fellow bloggers are just letting me sleep on this thing! I guess i've been overly busy lately, that can account for it. i'm actually very proud of myself. My plan to expand my socializing circle is going quite well. I've actually spent the last week "dispatching" my life - swapping out different people for different days to work through their availability and mine. And it's been amazing. I've made myself some new friends, although i think the result is a big gap between me and some of the old. Things change. People change. It's a part of growing up right? Such is life.

Work is also interfering with me playing the part of a 24 year old.I feel like a real adult fucking around with this job. i'm working almost 12 hours a day 5 days a week. Yea guys, i'm gonna be tired. Sorry I cant hang like u do all the time. Sorry that i need sleep to get up @ 2 in the am. Adding on my brand new internship (i'm trying to finish off this other degree now, i've found my muse), time is short. For now. As i've said before on twitter, I'm gonna be stockpiling my $ now. I see trouble on the horizon at work, and I want myself safe-guarded just in case. I dont need anything going awry on MY end.

I think i'd like to go back and get my palm read. Maybe this weekend again, or one day next week. I'd like an update on my future, to see if anything changed.

Making the Call

My mother came into my room this morning. With a straight face she said to me - "Maybe u shouldnt go out tonight, I dont want you traveling alone." The reason? Because some people backed out and decided not to participate in tonight's events anymore.

We then actually had a real serious discussion on how she keeps flip flopping between me leaving people be, and letting them dictate what I do. After she thought about it, she told me to call up some old friends and re-establish the connections we once had.

And then she said that I should get ready, go out and have a fantastic time, without regard for those that didnt show.

..and getting ready I am =0)

iLove

it makes me happy to see strong friendships grow, and spread, and include others.

...I love the openness of the four of them. Yay for friends becoming friends =0)

Old School

I feel so out of sync. I think I need new friends. What happened to the days when you could just call someone, see what's up, and head out somewhere. Just go for a walk down the block, sit on the stoop even? I miss connecting with folks. I used to be surrounded by such adventurous, crazy eccentric people. I guess they've gotten too old for that. People need different things to satisfy them. People see things through very different eyes. That fact saddens me deep inside. What I wouldnt give to talk with people like in the old days. The right people. The ones that matter most

New Look

Talked with a couple of friends who I'm embarrassed to say I havent spoken to for a few years. I forgot how easily they made me laugh and how comfortable and at home they make me feel. It felt great to reconnect with people that know you on such a personal level and that can relate so fully. I didnt even realize how much I missed them until I had them back. It wont be that way ever again. You've brought a light back into the world for me =0)

The End

Well, it's all over and done. I've entered into the recovery stage of my surgery. I even got a picture for a keepsake! Omg so much soreness...

But I did wanna say thank you to everyone who came to see me while i was incapacitated. You have no idea how much I appreciate the cards, flowers, balloons, and just having u take the time out to come. Actions speak so much louder than words.

Also, from my previous post, I'd like to thank Jacqueline. I took the time today to read into what you left for me and there was a lot of handy information in there.

Around the end of the week I'm going to try and get up and actually blog my experience. 9/26/08...jeez.

P.S...I Love You

A few things come to mind today....rumor has it that some friends of old are in town for the season and are looking to catch up. I'm thrilled for the chance to see some familiar faces from happier times. Its like pressing play on a tape that you stopped watching some time ago. Good times, goooood times.

As for A Shot At Love...i'm still kind of depressed she picked Bobby. But whatever works for her. Tila's reasoning for not picking Dani was hella flimsy, almost like she was afraid of things to go sour. So as to keep things from going sour, we're gonna just not jump start this rela (that we've already started) and skip all the broken hearts (that we all had to watch while The Fray serenaded it). Her attempt at sparing Dani and herself was....weak. But its all in the past now. Dani is getting hella pussy thrown at her left and right and i'm sure she's satisfied. Good luck to Tila and Bobby V (listen to the whisper...). I'm curious as to who the Bi-bachelorette is gonna be next season. Noooo confused viewers of ASAL...this season was with Tila Tequila...take note as to where her name was in reference to the title. The actual show is A Shot at Love. Every season there will be a new chica looking for love. Any takers on who the next one will be to break hearts?

Although I havent found it listed on his resume, there are rumors going around that he ---->will be playing him ---->
in the upcoming movie for the video game God of War. I'd say thats a umm....perfect match to say the least. Who thinks Mr. Diesel cant pull that one off? I defy you to find me someone you think can do it better! If only there were a Riddick picture similar to this one...

In other actor-related news, I've discovered that i'm actually quite the Butler fan. Gerard Butler to be exact. Unbeknowst to me, he's been enthralled in several movies that I favor greatly...and even some that he didnt command directly. His latest role is opposite that of Hilary Swank in a romance movie I am actually very eager to see, "P.S. I Love You". Just from what i've seen in the many previews, its one for the ages. those of you that dont know the many faces of Gerry, or just cant seem to recall, here's a rundown -
This is typical Gerry...with what has to be steroid/creatin induced, souped-up, 18hr a day 6 day-a-week gym weight training for about 14 months (along with every other male in the famous "300" of this generation). I still dont really believe thats him, but a genetically altered twin that they used and plastered his hairy face on. Talk about putting your all into a role....
Then there's Gerry. Back in the days of (a fave of mine) Dracula 2000. If you dont remember it, go watch. Embrace what Gerry used to be before he "hit it big". Normally we'd all chalk this up to a Baldwin situation (brothers that all share the same face and nothing. else. But he's just that good. It's nice to see him getting away from action...his resume for the future looks like thats all it is (including an "Untouchables" sequel...check it out here
